Service description

How does it work?

The SSL VPN is accessed through a web portal, using a standard web browser. Web applications, such as SharePoint and Outlook Web Access, work directly in the browser and do not require any supporting client software or browser plug-ins. Also, Windows network file shares can be accessed directly using a web user interface. Real client-server applications, like Remote Desktop Terminal Services, SSH and Citrix, are implemented using SSL tunnels. An SSL tunnel is initiated in the web portal and automatically established using a Java based agent. The agent is automatically launched in the browser and does not require administrator privileges.

The SafeMove Clientless SSL VPN service is run on the SMR310 SafeMove Server Appliance or virtualized in a VMware environment. A single SMR310 server can support 500 concurrent users under normal conditions. The service is implemented using the Barracuda SSL VPN software.
