<title>Birdstep launches an intelligent tool for collecting connectivity data at Enterprise Mobility Exchange</title>
<description>SafeMove Analytics monitors the performance of wireless networks to improve productivity and user experience OSLO, Norway – 16 May 2013 – Birdstep Technology (www.birdstep.com), a leading provider of Smart Mobile Data and Secure Mobility services, announced today the launch of SafeMove Analytics, an intelligent tool for collecting and analysing connectivity data from mobile devices and laptops running the SafeMove client. &#160; SafeMove Analytics gathers metrics on both cellular and Wi-Fi connections, including the status, strength, and connection speed, IP addresses of devices, and Wi-Fi networks that are in range. Analytics can also be enhanced readily with GPS data if available to increase location accuracy. This information can be used both for reporting and troubleshooting, enabling users to obtain greater understanding of current wireless service provider performance and then plan how to improve it in the future. Analysing the data allows customers to make decisions relating to connectivity based on detailed knowledge of actual network performance that can be used to achieve significant improvements in productivity and user experience. &#160; A continuous and high quality connection is essential for productive remote working, both for businesses and also utilities that rely heavily on efficient access to services from laptops or other devices in the field. SafeMove Analytics in concert with the SafeMove client helps achieve such efficient remote working by addressing the following questions: &#160; Which users or devices suffer from frequent network problems? In which locations? Which cellular operator has the best coverage in the areas frequented by our devices? Which Wi-Fi operator has the best coverage in the areas frequented by our devices and in the areas where the cellular operator has poor service? What level of service and performance does the cellular operator provide to our devices in terms of coverage (time/location), speed (e.g., LTE vs 3G vs GPRS)? What is the real performance of the different Wi-Fi networks? Do any of them have problems? Are the organization’s Wi-Fi networks successful in keeping devices off of the WWAN (Wireless Wide Area Network)? &#160; &#160; One of the first users of SafeMove Analytics was Thames Water, the U.K.’s largest water and wastewater services provider. Read the Case study here. &#160; Birdstep will demonstrate this new SafeMove Analytics tool at Enterprise Mobility Exchange on 21-23 May in Rotterdam, Netherlands. It is possible to get familiar with it also at Critical Communications World on 21-24 May in Paris, at shared stand with Goodmill Systems and TetraTAB. &#160; &#160; About Birdstep Technology Birdstep Technology&#160;is a leading provider of Smart Mobile Data and Secure Mobility for operators, enterprises and governmental organizations. <title>Making Sense Of Big Data With Birdstep Technology</title>
<description>EasyAnalytics and SmartANDSF Help Operators Intelligently Market And Monetize Mobile Services &#160; OSLO, Norway – 8 May 2013 – Birdstep Technology (www.birdstep.com), a leading provider of Smart Mobile Data and Secure Mobility services, today announced the debut of EasyAnalytics and SmartADNSF with two US mobile operators. &#160; Being presented for the first time at CTIA, Las Vegas, Birdstep’s new Smart Mobile Data solutions are the first to enable operators to effectively analyze the customer experience down to the user end-device when roaming between cellular and WiFi networks allowing operators to further differentiate and monetize their mobile services. &#160; “Despite all the excitement around Big Data there is a surprising lack of insight into the potential applications, use cases and benefits for mobile operators and their customers. Data is just the raw material and Birdstep’s Smart Mobile Data solutions introduce intelligence to the process which converts Big Data into increased customer satisfaction, improved efficiency and new revenue opportunities”, explains Lonnie Schilling, CEO of Birdstep. “EasyAnalytics and SmartANDSF help operators intelligently and selectively balance traffic between WiFi and 3G/4G networks based on policy defined in the network and then the use of usage analysis to gain deep insights into how, when and why the services are being used, feeding this data back into subscriber policy. This provides unique service differentiation for the operator and an optimal user experience for the mobile customer.” &#160; EasyAnalytics provides great flexibility in deciding how to analyze mobile usage and the applications it will serve. At the forefront is the ability to address different levels of the customer experience, ranging from the overall impact of onload and offload, right through to issues within the Wi-Fi or 4G coverage area caused by varying signal levels and network conditions. &#160; SmartANDSF is Birdstep’s enhanced version of the 3GPP ANDSF (Access Network Discovery and Selection Function) standard. Drawing on Birdstep’s experience from deploying onto millions of handsets and direct customer feedback, SmartANDSF builds on 3GPP ANDSF, adding triggers on the end-device to transparently initiate the discovery and selection function followed by a completely user transparent, zero click, authentication and login process. &#160; Birdstep also announced its Q1 results with an increase of revenues of more than 53% compared to the same period last year. .
