New version of SafeMove released

New version of SafeMove Mobile VPN has been released with significant new features. The most exciting new features are Mobile IP dead peer detection, and support for multiple IP addresses for a single Mobile IP home agent server.

Mobile IP dead peer detection is a process where the Mobile IP client quickly detects when an established connection no longer works. Examples of possible reasons are that the underlying network link ceases to work or that the server has been restarted for maintenance. The Mobile IP client promptly detects this, and reacts by immediately reconnecting.

Multiple IP addresses for a Mobile IP home agent server are useful in setups where for instance the server cannot be reached using its public IP address from within the enterprise network, but only at a private IP address. This features enables the same ultra-fast, seamless handovers SafeMove is famous for, also between private and public server IP addresses in setups with such restrictions.
