Sales Engineer - Oslo, Norway
The Birdstep's Sales Engineers (SE) provides pre-sales support for our embedded database products. Birdstep pioneered the embedded database space in the 1980’s and has today one of the markets most reputable family of embedded database’s.
You’ll be joining a dynamic group of talented people with responsible for achieving a technical win in sales opportunities. You will be a key technical consultant to our sales force and helps qualify business opportunities, develop client confidence, and win qualified business. You’ll be analyzing the client applications requirements, assist in positioning the right embedded database product, and identify and address any potential issues. You will also be put to implement and integrate proof of concepts to illustrate the strength of our products in combination with the customer’s requirements.
Job Responsibility Include:
- Be a complete technical liaison for prospect technical personnel during the sales cycle. Work closely with sales personnel to present and demonstrate Raima Database Manager (RDM) products in sales situations to prospect individuals and groups.
- You are a strong technical resource to the sales force. You are capable of actively driving and managing technology through the evaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and advocate for Raima Database Manager (RDM) products.
- You articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users, helping them to understand how the product solves their problems and what benefits they will gain. You are able to identify technical challenges during the sales process to ensure we meet the client's needs and mitigate potential risks. You must be able to build and maintain strong relationships.
- Protect and advance the Company’s excellent technical sales and service reputation.
- Research and follow up on technical issues related to sales opportunities; inform, mentor and train technical colleagues, customers, and partners.
- Work with the Sales Executives to develop comprehensive strategies to achieve sales goals in assigned business territories.
- Create sales collaterals like performance benchmarks and technical papers.
- Up to 50% travel required.
Required Skills for this Sales Engineer position include:
- 3-4 years of work related experience is required.
- Understanding of software sales processes.
- Background in software development.
- C coding skills are required, (C++ skills are desirable).
- Experience with RTOS such as VxWorks, QNX etc.
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills as well as savvy interpersonal skills
- Must be very successful in a collaborative working team environment.
