Birdstep signs SmartRoaming agreement with major Aisian Phone Manufacturer

Birdstep Technology ASA today signed an agreement with a major Asian mobile phone manufacturer to integrate Birdstep's Windows Mobile 5.0 based SmartRoaming client into the manufacturer's next generation Wireless Broadband Smartphones.

The agreement covers customization work to support two leading edge next generation devices as well as licensing of Birdstep's SmartRoaming technology when the phones are shipped to market.

The phones will be shipped for operator trials early 2007 and Birdstep expects license revenues from commercial deployments from this agreement to start during second half of 2007.
