Birdstep secure seamless mobility contract from Hong Kong operator

Birdstep has been awarded Asia's first seamless mobility contract across all platforms; Windows Vista for Laptops, Windows Mobile and Symbian for Smartphones. The launch will take place in Hong Kong by a major operator

Oslo– May 24, 2007 –Birdstep Technology ASA, the leading provider of seamless connectivity and mobility software for laptop, PDA's and Smartphones, today announced a new breakthrough order from a major Hong Kong based operator. The order comprise the recently launched EasyConnect notebook client solution including seamless mobility based on mobile IP, seamless mobility client solutions for several brands of Smartphones on both Windows Mobile and Symbian as well as Birdstep's Device Management Server solution for both notebooks and Smartphones.

The project is based on Birdstep's patented wireless product portfolio and will be a true cross bearer service offering for value added applications demanding high performance seamless mobility.

The nation wide market offering will provide enhanced Mobile IP features making it possible for users to experience “always on” connectivity where the connection to internet never breaks. In addition, the order includes the delivery of Birdsteps Device Management Server offering for intelligent and easy deployment of clients as well as advanced configuration and provisioning management. The service is planned for commercial launch during the third quarter this year.
