Birdstep is awarded Pan-Nordic mobile broadband service platform from major operator

Birdstep has been selected by a major Nordic Operator to deliver one common mobile broadband platform across all Nordic countries. By adding the remaining 250 Finnish mobile broadband zones to Birdsteps Information and Service Management platform the solution becomes true pan-Nordic.

Oslo, May 31 – Birdstep Technology has been selected by a major operator to deliver a single mobile broadband platform across the Nordic region. This means that support and maintenance of all data traffic in the operators Mobile Broadband offering will be carried out using Birdstep's Service and Information Management system for large scale deployments.

The inclusion of 250 Finnish mobile broadband zones completes the cross-regional platform and makes it possible to create true synergies. For the end customer this means improved quality and a simplified and standardized service and interface across all countries in the region.

“This award of Birdstep and our Information and Service Management platform for the operator's mobile broadband offering throughout the whole Nordic region is an important step towards our ambition of being the leading provider of client and server solutions for mobile operators”, said Petri Markkanen, CEO, Birdstep Technology.

The mobile broadband offering is present in strategic locations throughout all Nordic countries. Customers will also be able utilize the mobile broadband service in places like hotels, cafés, restaurants, railway stations and airports. The Service and Information Management platform, named Orbyte, was originally developed by ServiceFactory, now part of Birdstep Technology.
