Birdstep awarded software development contract from global wireless chipset provider

(Oslo, October 4, 2007) Birdstep Technology ASA, the leading provider of secure seamless connectivity and mobility software for laptops, PDA’s and Smartphones, has entered into a joint development agreement with a leading supplier of wireless chipset solutions.

Birdstep was selected for its market leading position as well as unique wireless connectivity competence. Following the contract award, Birdstep will ensure interoperability between Birdstep’s wireless connectivity client software and the other party's next generation wireless broadband modem technology.  This means that Birdsteps will accelerate the number of certified cellular modems with Birdstep’s award winning EasyConnect Software. The delivery is scheduled already for the fourth quarter 2007.

By entering into this development agreement, Birdstep takes a clear proactive step in generating value for Mobile Operators and PC-OEM customers. Working directly with leading industry players in the wireless value chain of connectivity and seamless mobility solutions shorten the time to market for our customers and speeds up our process of verifying, supporting and qualifying cellular modems before market launch.
