Birdstep names Robert Vangstad new Vice President Marketing

Oslo/Stockholm/Seattle/Cambridge - May 4, 2006 -Birdstep Technology ASA, the leading provider of ease-of-connectivity and seamless-mobility client solutions, announced today that Robert Vangstad has been appointed Vice President Marketing of the company effective immediately, bringing over 10 years of experience building successful companies within the IT/Telecom sector.

Prior to joining Birdstep Robert Vangstad was Vice President Marketing at mobile messaging specialist Mobeon where he played a central role in building a 160 person strong company with an install base of more than 34 million IP voice mailboxes globally. Before that he spent 2 year as General Manager for the US operations.

In a career that has spanned two continents, Robert has worked in sales, business development, marketing and executive management. These roles have also reached across operator, enterprise and consumer segments and in scales ranging from national operators through multinational corporations to early stage.

Robert Vangstad holds two BA degrees, one in Sociology and one in Political Science from Stockholm University, Sweden and is currently completing the Executive MBA program at the University of Warwick, UK.
