Birdstep selects Cap Gemini Ernst and Young Nederland B.V. as 2003 European WiFi Implementation Partner of the Year
One of the Leaders in Consulting and Integration actively helps its customers to take advantage of Birdstep's technology
Oslo – February 17th, 2004 – Birdstep recognizes with this award companies that exemplify the ideal business partner. Cap Gemini Ernst and Young Nederland B.V. (CGE&Y) has shown in the past years, and specially during 2003 to be such a partner. The technology that Birdstep represents and the know-how that is the trademark of CGE&Y provide a tremendous value added solution to both the enterprise and the public market.
”In 2003, we decided to introduce a partner award to recognize business partners that actively promote our solutions to the market,” said Stefano Holguin, Head of Marketing at Birdstep Technology. ”CGE&Y is a prime example. They have worked with our technology and introduced it to their customers showing the value of Birdstep products combined with CGE&Y's competency.”
Increasingly operators and enterprises want to offer secure seamless connectivity between private and public data networks. Information on any mobile device (e.g. lap top PC, PDA or smart phone) should be accessible all the time the user moves between various fixed and mobile networks. The need for such solutions is especially recognized in countries with a dense population, and where a large part of the population frequently uses public transportation.
”At CGE&Y we know the importance of offering our customers trustworthy products from the very best suppliers. Having gained hands-on experiences with Birdstep's technology, we are confident that this partnership really adds value to our customers,” says Pieter Zylstra, Head of the Mobility Team within CGE&Y Benelux. He also adds, ”we truly believe the demand for seamless connectivity will expand in the near future. Together with Birdstep Technology, as well as our other “Wi-Fi-in-a-Box” partners like Cisco, Intel and HP we are ready to deliver innovative mobility solutions to our clients.”
The successful partnership resulted already in a unique project for CGE&Y at ProRail (Dutch Rail infrastructure provider) where CGE&Y and Birdstep are involved in creating the largest mobile broadband test bed in the European rail market.
